The Japan–France Joint Seminar on Functional Block Copolymer 2015 was held at Hokkaido University’s Frontier Research in Applied Sciences Bldg. from June 1–3, 2015. This event was organized by the researchers from the Centre de Recherches sur les Macromolécules Végétales (CERMAV-CNRS), Grenoble, France, and polymer chemistry researchers from Japan. More than 80 people attended the seminar.
The most impressive research achievements were the talks on the synthesis of sugar-containing copolymers and the analysis of self-organizational behavior in water. The originality of this research inspired me a lot. A discussion took place between speakers and attendants at the end of the seminar in anticipation of possible collaborative researches in the future, which was also very fruitful to promote developments of researches.
