Journalist Covers Education and Research

Our program held the “Mathematical Society of Japan Journalist in Residence (JIR)” from November 24 to 28, 2015, and again from December 7 to 11 of the same year. Two journalists joined the conference—Mr. Shigeyuki Koide, head of the Japan Association of Science and Technology Journalists, and Ms. Hoshi Tominaga, the science popularizer and translator. Starting with “Frontier Mathematical Sciences”
III, both journalists covered classes in our program, along with the university’s mathematics department and the Communication in Science & Technology Education and Research program. Both Mr. Koide’s and Ms. Tominaga’s reports can be seen on our program’s website.
