Business seminars were held in eight companies in academic year 2015 with totally 30 participants: DIC, AGC Asahi Glass, Teijin, Toshiba, Sumitomo Chemical, Nippon Shokubai, Asahi KASEI Chemicals, ADEKA. The 2nd-term Students held interview meetings with industry researchers and personnel managers, attended research presentations, and went on laboratory and factory study trips. Through these activities, they got a clear picture of what kind of doctoral-level personnel were required by industry. They had the chance to learn about a different set of R&D projects than the university projects with which they had become familiar in the early stages of the program’s initial years. This was a meaningful opportunity in terms of the participants’ future career paths.
