A team of three Hokkaido University DX Doctoral Fellowship recipients was selected for the "Local Future Society SOUZOU Project" and started the challenge of social implementation of research results.

採択者第１号のチームを紹介します

A team of three people led by Mr. Go Morita, who conducts research on smart agriculture, was selected. All three are DX Doctoral Fellowship students and second-year doctoral students at the Vehicle Robotics Laboratory, Graduate Graduate School of Agriculture, Hokkaido University University.

At the Vehicle Robotics Laboratory, we are conducting daily research on the themes of robotization and automation of agricultural machinery and data-based agriculture. This is the so-called “smart farming”.

• Go Morita "Remote control of agricultural tractors using game controllers"
  Autonomous driving is not good at near windbreak forests where GPS cannot reach and on roads with obstacles. Remote control allows people to work in the above environment depending on the situation.
• 山﨑歓友さん「果樹園作業に適用できるロボット電動農業車両（ロボットEV）」
  このロボットEVを開発することで、中山間地域の農業振興を図るとともに、減農薬など環境負荷の少ない農業を実現することを目指しています。
• Mr. Kazuki Matsuoka "Mapping fruit growth status using AI and GPS for detecting fruit growth status, and improving the efficiency of sorting work with image recognition AI"
  Until now, in blueberry fields, farmers have manually checked the growth status, harvested, and sorted each berry. Matsuoka's research can reduce the labor of farmers.

「地域の未来社会SOUZOUプロジェクト」での挑戦は始まったばかりですが、「学生主導で何かやってみたい」「帯広や富良野出身のため、北海道の地方と関わりたい」「研究室から飛び出し、農家や地域企業といった“現場の声”を聞くことで自身の研究に応用したい」など、取り組むべきテーマはたくさんありそうです。これから３人はどのような挑戦を重ねていくのか、１年後が楽しみです。

  In order to realize the future society envisioned by elementary school students, university students will comment on what is necessary and give advice on how to enjoy learning and research.
